Introduction to Mass Media is a course designed for new communication students. It examines the nature and history of mass communications, including books, newspapers, magazines, radio, sound recording, motion pictures, broadcast and other kinds of television, and the Internet. The course also considers media theory, the economics and regulation of the media, perspectives on journalism, and the societal impact of mass communication.
