Description

The course familiarizes students with everyday situations in the hotel and tourism industry in which they interact with clients and customers with a high degree of fluency. It improves students? abilities to listen and understand longer conversations and talks. It also develops their reading skills with reference to texts related to the hotels and tourism industry. The course also improves the writing skills of the students through practicing different types of writing related to their field of hotels and tourism. In addition, the course aims at enhancing students' skills in academic writing through practicing different types of writing on the paragraph level. This course provides career- specific text and terms through written as well as audio- text. It establishes a basis of skills and language relevant to the hotels and tourism industries. This course also aims at improving the students' communicative abilities. It teach students ways of dealing with complaints both written and orally. Then, it introduces off- site services and their nature and the nature and terminologies used by business travelers. It presents the different vocabulary related with conference and planning and execution of tour operation business. It teaches students presentation skills through continuous written and oral assignments given to them.
