The course focuses on improving the students? abilities of interacting with people in the field of hotels and tourism by engaging in different tasks and projects throughout the course of the semester. In addition, the course addresses the writing skills on both levels the academic and on the level related to hotels and tourism. The listening skill is also developed through practicing and handling different types of conversations and tasks. Students are also introduced to different reading texts related to the field of hotels and tourism and their reading skills are developed through various tasks and exercises. Accuracy is targeted through the usage of different structures and grammatical items in context. This course introduces students to situations in which they might find themselves during their work with emphasis on solving problems and helping guests or clients. Listening and speaking are given special attention. Students are trained to use their grammar and vocabulary in communicating efficiently and accurately with native and non- native speakers of English, whether orally or in writing. It presents types of accommodation, hotel facilities and staffing in international organizations. It presents methods of reservation and check in and nature of hotel and restaurant services. It deals with money matters. It teaches students presentation skills through continuous written and oral assignments given to them.
