Description

The course concentrates on upgrading the language skills of Hotels & Tourism students in terms of listening to mini -dialogues, communicating politely with guests, reading short texts and forms, and writing at the paragraph level. Students' difficulties in grammar and structure are also addressed. The course also aims at introducing technical vocabulary related to the field of hotels and tourism. The course provides information about different kinds of people, and definition of international travel and its aspects and places. It introduces methods of dealing with people through phone calls, items of food and drink, methods of writing letters and faxes and different terms associated with accommodation establishments. It presents the methods of dealing with money, the aspects and terms of traveling abroad and how to deal with people from different nationalities, problems faced by employees and tourists. It makes students familiar with the different aspects of attractions and activities. It teaches students presentation skills through continuous written and oral assignments given to them.
