By the end of this course, students should be able to: • Gain competence to translate part, or chapter, of a complete literary work. • Use semantic or communicative equivalence where necessary. • Develop more accuracy in translating literary or technical terminology in the chosen text. • Use language appropriate to the potential readership of the translated text. • Deal with lexical and grammatical complexities of the source text. • Revise the translated work to be as close to the Target Language used by natives as possible. • Explain the translation strategies employed and discuss the limitations of the translation. • Give critical written feedback on the translation.
