Description

-List the ideas of a speaker. -Reformulate Source Language messages in Target Language (TL) in one’s own words. -Sight-translate discontinuously at breaks. -Sight-translate written texts of paragraph length into TL. -Scan texts at different reading speed rates.

Objectives

• Teaching students the fundamentals of sight translation, oral communication, mimicking speakers, rising and falling tones, and sight reading. It will assist in the development of related skills, such as reading comprehension, scanning for main ideas, fast reading, analysis of language, vocabulary enrichment and comprehension verification through paraphrasing. Students will also be instructed in how to listen carefully, how to develop a retentive memory and recast the whole message, or part of it, in their own words.
