Description

This course introduces the fundamentals and methods used in managing software development. The course should improve the student’s ability to successfully lead high-performance project teams, master the underlying principles of any sound project management and the practical skills for planning and leading projects of all sizes, review the best methods for managing projects such as information system development, software development, facilities installation, and moves, adds and changes, plan and scope projects and learn how to perform cost analysis, develop critical paths and implement effective control systems, learn how to define compelling project goals so clearly that each individual on the team consistently makes the right choices about how to proceed, learn how to build relationships that stand up under enormous pressure, learn how to make clear the requests and reliable agreements that result in the achievement of goals and plans, learn and practice ways to share high-quality information quickly and clearly, learn effective methods to reduce resistance, manage conflict and get people to work well together, implement systems to capture and share lessons learned.
