This is an introductory-level course designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of some of the fundamental concepts related to E-Commerce. Students will learn all of the fundamentals of E-commerce; what it is, how it came about, what benefits it offers, what its constituents are, and what its future might be. The course is designed to provide an insight into the world of E-business and to introduce the fundamentals required to successfully implement an E-business strategy. It provides ways to minimise risk by focusing on the essential requirements for Business to operate effectively in an electronic environment. The course also discusses the cost benefits that flow from using the Internet to its full potential. Other concepts include market and enterprise issues that affect E-Business, business models and processes that have been impacted by E-Business solutions, taking E-Business theory to implementation, and key enabling technologies that support successful E-Business solutions.
