This course provides an introduction to the question of human rights. Throughout the semester, we will examine the conceptual history as well as the practice of human rights through interdisciplinary texts.

The evolution of the concept of human rights and its institutionalization was a complex and political process and that what we today understand as human rights is also a political construction.rn2. Demonstrate an awareness of the international context of human rightsrn3. Analyze and evaluate concepts and ideas.rn4. Understand the basic knowledge of human rights. B. The ability to discern different theoretical understandings of human rights and to critically assess contemporary human rights discourses.rn2. Understand the historical growth of the idea of human rightsrn3. Reflectively evaluate the effectiveness of human rights practice on local, national or international humanitarian efforts.rn4. Identify the taxonomic level of fish species.rn2. Use the different biological aspects of fish to refer to their taxonomic level.rn3. Distinguish characteristics of fish species related to ecological parameters.rn4. Know how to incorporate biological, ecological and social information in fisheries management D. General and Transferable skillsrnAt the end of the course, students should be able to :rn1. Use the information of different morphological and biological aspects of a specimen for a proper classification and identification as well as studying the ecological factors that affect fish communities.rn2. Work in groups during laboratory sessions.rn3. Pay attention to the finer details while identifying fish species.rn4. Identify knowledge gaps, innovation needs and opportunities.
