Know Introduction to Tide & Tidal Stream and understand Tide applications.rn3. Know the basic principles of navigation, and familiar with the nautical charts andrnpublications.rnB. Intellectual SkillsrnThe course provides students with:rn1. Make different responses to different situations during sailing with regards tornwind and current effect.rn2. Deal correctly with the different situations during approaches and navigating inrnconfined Waters and Apply the running fix cases.rn3. Integrate base knowledge and critical thinking to address novel challenges andrnsolutions.rnC. Professional and Practical skillsrnAt the end of the course, students should be able to :rn1. Make use of the Gained chart work practice to handle various cases related tornwind effect, current effect and combined effects on ship’s position and tracks.rn2. Differentiate between, plot and extract various types of ship position (E.P / Searnposition / Fix)rn3. Know the height of tide for port approach and operations.rn4. Understand the proper procedures of Bridge Team Management at sea.rnD. General and Transferable skillsrnAt the end of the course, students should be able to :rn1. Recognize the dangerous situation during approaching ports under the effect ofrnwind and current and to overcome these effects by counteracting actions.rn2. Tide calculations for secondary ports.rn3. Be familiar with International and/or National regulations, legislation andrnconventions.rn
