At the end of this course students will be able to 1-Identify the major components of the Logistics Information System structure 2- List and explain the modules of ERP applications with their implementation strategies used and implemented by different sized organizations located in different industries 3- Summarize the benefits of implementing different identification, communication, and machine learning technologies on the supply chain performance. 4- Implement the “Sales, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Invoicing, Customer Relationship Management” modules from Odoo software to gain hands on experience of the ERP applications used in industry 5-Classify the different modules of the ERP applications implemented by businesses through practice on the “Odoo software” and case studies discussions. 6-Demonstrate the application of different technologies in real industrial and service sectors 7-Work in teams to develop leadership skills 8-Students will use oral, written, technology supported communication skills

Objectives

  • The course aims at giving the students basic knowledge in the use of information systems in business with a particular focus on its use within logistics and supply chain management. Attention is given to how information system and digitalization can help create competitive businesses. This course focuses on methods, technologies and systems that ensure a system approach to IT application in a logistics enterprise; it thoroughly examines IT solutions aimed to support logistics functions including logistics object identification and monitoring as well as logistics information types and their functionality, warehouse, inventory and transportation management information systems, enterprise resource, production planning and control, supply chain planning and event management information systems and their operation principles.
