System Response, Higher oder system – Error Analysis - Stability analysis - Routh- Hurwitz stability criterion (with applications to mechanical systems). Root locus Analysis. Matlab Applications for Root Locus Analysis (with applications to mechanical systems). PI – controller – Zeigler Nichols Method. Lead Compensator Design – Matlab applications. Lag Compensator Design – Matlab applications.

  • The aim of this course is to present and introductory yet comprehensive definition of terms and mathematical tools used in the study of control. The student should be able to: Apply theories and concepts of automatic control systems and engineering principles to mechanical and marine system . Use mathematical & computational skills in solving Automatic control engineering problems. Use a wide range of software modeling and design like matlab control toolbox. Use computational tools and packages and write computer programs pertaining to automatic control applied on mechanical and marine engineering. Refer to scientific literature effectively.
