Description

The course presents the design, implementation and performance of network protocols using TCP/IP protocol suite as a case study. Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be well versed in the design of network protocols. Furthermore, the student should be able to develop network-aware applications from the ground up. Hands-on experience will be gained through several programming assignments, which require C and/or Java knowledge. In addition, where appropriate, research literature concerning design of network protocols will be presented.
