AASTMT College of Pharmacy Workshop on The Latest Technological Advances in the Medical Field
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) Faculty of Pharmacy hosted a specialized workshop on the latest technological advances in the medical field on Wednesday 27- 11- 2024, at AASTMT Abu Qir campus. This was part of AASTMT efforts to improve international cooperation, exchange experiences, and link academic education with industry and modern technology, in addition to developing scientific research and innovative applications which promote the development of the medical industry and offering chances for direct interaction between students and professionals from top medical technology companies.
AASTMT College of Pharmacy organized the workshop activities in cooperation with a scientific group affiliated with the Bavarian Business Education Association (Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft - bbw) and the Organic Egypt Foundation. The workshop focused on contemporary innovations and technological applications that result in a qualitative shift in the medical industry. The workshop activities included distinguished presentations by German experts from four leading companies in the field of medical technology under the title: Digital Health and Telemedicine, Medical Solutions Using 3D Printing, Innovative Coating for Health Facilities, and Strategies for Treating Lymphedema.
On the sidelines of the workshop, students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at AASTMT El Alamein campus and Abu Qir campus College of Pharmacy presented scientific posters for their distinguished medical technology research. The research was distinguished by its support for sustainability, current medical challenges, and an innovative spirit. Notably, the participated German experts commended the research's scientific quality, the significance of the subjects it covered, and the innovative and creative environment AASTMT fosters for its students. These accolades are indicative of the high caliber of scientific research and advanced education offered by AASTMT to its students.
