At the beginning of the launch of the activities of the Saudi Obeikan group in Egypt, the CEO of the group and the director of Obeikan Egypt, Eng.Abdullah Obeikan, and Prof. Dr.Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, president of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, signed a cooperation agreement in the field of supporting startups in the industrial sector and smart manufacturing. Between the Academy`s Entrepreneurship Center and Obeikan digital solutions company, at the Academy`s headquarters in the smart village, in the presence of H.E. Ambassador / Osama bin Ahmed Naqli, ambassador of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo،

H.E.Ambassador Osama bin Ahmed Naqli expressed his happiness with this cooperation, which confirms the close relations between the brothers in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt. He explained that the Egyptian market is one of the most important target markets for Saudi investors, and that innovation and smart industry are the future for large companies and industrial entities. On the other hand, he stressed the leading role of the Arab Academy in the field of supporting innovation and linking industry with scientific research.
Abdullah Al Obeikan expressed his happiness with the group`s presence in the Egyptian market, as part of its vision to be a reliable reference in digital transformation and a Leading Provider of integrated solutions in the field of education, innovation and digital solutions in the MENA region.
He explained that the cooperation agreement with the Arab Academy supports and paves the way in this field, as the Academy is one of the most important research and supporting entities for the industrial sector, specialized in supporting entrepreneurs and startups through its various programs and capabilities.
For his part, Prof. Dr.Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag, president of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, welcomed the visit of the CEO of the group and the accompanying delegation to the headquarters of the academy, and the launch of Obeikan for its activities in Egypt. H.E. explained that the Academy supports the vision of the Egyptian state, to link the industrial sector with entrepreneurs and start-up companies in order to exploit and direct the energies of young people towards projects and ideas that contribute to developing and finding innovative solutions to the challenges facing the industrial sector, the most important of which is deepening local manufacturing and maximizing the use of local production inputs.

Prof. Dr.Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag,stressed that the Arab Academy, with its various entities and branches and the Entrepreneurship Center, spares no effort in providing various means of support to Arab and Egyptian youth, and working to provide elements of growth and stability to those companies in the labor market, which contributes to raising their competitiveness.
It is worth mentioning that the cooperation agreement aims mainly at cooperation between the two parties and providing technical support and assistance to entrepreneurs and innovative startups and companies through the two axes of the rally competition for students and startups and the hackathon, and the axis of the smart manufacturing incubator, and the conditions for applying for the competition as well as the incubator will be announced soon.
On the sidelines of the signing of the agreement, a tour was organized for the Obeikan Group delegation to the specialized industrial laboratories of the academy as well as the Entrepreneurship Center, where some entrepreneurs and start-up companies from graduates and beneficiaries of the center`s programs presented their project ideas.
