The opening of the North Africa International Conference and Exhibition for Ports and Free Zones.
On Saturday, November 18, 2023, the opening ceremony of the North Africa International Conference and Exhibition for Ports and Free Zones took place. The event, organized by the Port Training Institute at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in collaboration with the Free Zone in Misrata, Libya, the conference was attended by dignitaries including His Excellency Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Salim Al-Shahoubi, the Minister of Transportation, and His Excellency Professor Ismail Abd Elghaffar Ismail Farag, the President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, along with Professor. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy the Dean of Port Training Institute, and Engineer Mohsen Al-Suqatri, the Chairman of the Management Committee in the Misurata Free Zone, and Engineer Ayman Eldrouish, the General Manager of the Misurata Free Zone, were in attendance. Also present were several ambassadors, heads of boards of directors of Libyan authorities and ports, in addition to the Mayor of Misurata and representatives of participating international companies.
During the opening ceremony, Prof. Alaa Mahmoud Morsy, dean of Port Training Institute, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the event and the deep partnership between the institute and the Misurata Free Zone.
