AASTMT Honorary Doctorate Degree to "Grand Imam AlAzhar AlSharif - His Holiness Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark"
In accordance with the recommendations of the 47th session of the executive council of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) that was held on Saturday 20- 4- 2024, at AASTMT Alamein campus, and in implementation of the AASTMT Education Council No. 2 of 2024, H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail - AASTMT President decided to grant an honorary doctorate degree to His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb - Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and His Holiness Pope Tawadros II - Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, in recognition of the distinguished efforts in serving humanity and upholding the values of tolerance.
It is worth noting that H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit - Secretary General of the League of Arab States and H.E. AASTMT President handed His Holiness Pope Tawadros II an honorary doctorate in appreciation of His Holiness's contributions to the well-being of humanity and the preservation of human values. The event was held during the opening session of the “Media and Information literacy and global understanding - peace for all” conference that was organized by the League of Arab States, in cooperation with the UNESCO Organization for Culture and Science.
