His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, and His Excellency Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, president of the Academy, witnessed the press conference to announce the details of the world junior Modern Pentathlon Championship, which will be held from June 25 to 30 at the stadiums of the Arab Academy for science, technology and maritime transport, the main branch in Alexandria, in addition to honoring the Sons of the Academy 25% of the total number of the expedition. The conference and honoring the Olympians witnessed the presence of H. E. Eng.Yasser Idris, president of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, H. E. Eng. Sherif El-Erian, president of the Egyptian federation and vice president of the International Modern Pentathlon Federation, H. E. Marwan Al-Zali, treasurer of the UAE billiards and Snooker Federation, and Their Excellencies the presidents of the Egyptian federations, and the Centers of responsibility at the Academy, in Dr. Gamal Mokhtar Hall at the Faculty of Engineering at the Academy's headquarters in Sheraton Heliopolis. In his speech, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, stressed that Egypt is always on time to host major international events, which reflects the confidence of international federations in Egypt and its great sale in organizing such events, and that the ministry spares no effort in providing all means of support to sports federations to implement the strategy of the Egyptian state and political leadership in this regard. Sobhi thanked and appreciated Dr. Ismail Abdul Ghaffar for the strong role of the academy with the Ministry of youth and sports to support athletes and provide scholarships, which reach to be free to support our sports children. Yasser Idris, president of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, expressed his happiness with Egypt hosting the events of the 2024 World Junior Modern Pentathlon Championship, wishing success to the players in the world championship and raising Egypt's name high in international forums, as is the custom of Egyptian players in various tournaments. In his speech, His Excellency Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, president of the Academy, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, which contributed to changing Egypt's position on the map of the world championships.he also thanked engineer Yasser Idris, president of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, and engineer Sherif El – Erian for his great efforts in hosting this championship on Egyptian soil. Abdel Ghaffar continued from the land of peace, the cradle of civilizations and the land of culture and sports, our meeting with the world championship for young people in modern pentathlon is renewed at the academy, and stressed that the interest of the Egyptian state in organizing international tournaments reflects the interest of the political leadership in sports as it is more capable than others to convey a message of peace, love and brotherhood to all peoples, and that holding the championship for the fifth time at the Academy's stadiums is a testimony that we are proud that we have become a destination for all events, events and World Championships, and that the Academy harnesses all its possibilities and provides all support and assistance so that Egypt can successfully organize the championship in cooperation with the Federation Egyptian Modern Pentateuch and Ministry Youth and sports and coordination with the International Federation of modern pentathlon and all Egyptian state institutions. He continued by saying that our mission today is to spread and instill the concept that social peace, Civilizational Communication and human integration is the only way for all peoples to live in peace, security and prosperity, and it is the hope for our children and youth to achieve their dreams and ambitions, which is the impact that we must leave for the current and future generations, confident in the good luck of Allah Almighty. The president of the Academy expressed his gratitude to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt and stressed that His Excellency's strong support for sports in various aspects is one of the most important pillars of the success of Egyptian sports and what it has reached during the past period، He added: "all the best to the children of the academy and their comrades in the Egyptian mission raising the flag of the homeland at the Paris Olympics 2024 and we take the opportunity to honor a group of Egyptian champions in various sports from students and graduates of the Academy qualifying for the Paris Olympics 2024 and their parents who have the first and last credit after the Almighty for the excellence of our children at the international sports level. For his part, Eng.Sherif El-Erian, president of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, thanked Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of youth and sports, as well as Eng. Yasser Idris, and Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, president of the Academy, for the intensive effort provided by the academy to make all the tournaments held on its territory a success. Sherif added that the number of participating countries in the tournament is 42 countries, which is a normal number for any World Championship, pointing out that the Egyptian national team is the holder of the title of this championship, stressing that he trusts in the ability of players and coaches to maintain the title, especially that the championship is held on the soil of Egypt and among our audience. El-Erian also confirmed that the African Championship will be held in Egypt on the sidelines of the world championship with the participation of more than 8 African countries for all Sunni stages, as well as the modern Penta-Arab Federation will be revived in cooperation with Major General Ahmed Nasser, president of the Federation of African federations "OXA" to revive Arab cooperation in the game. El-Erian stressed that Ahmed El-Gendi and Muhannad Shaaban have been confirmed to participate in the Paris Olympics, Moataz Wael and Mohammed El-Gendi are on the reserve list, and the Pharaohs Salma Ayman and King Khalid will participate in the women's competitions, and Amira Qandil and Heidi Adel are on the reserve list. The conference and the ceremony honoring the Olympians also witnessed the presence of Dr. Ashraf el-Bagrami, head of the sports sector at the Ministry of youth and sports, Dr. Mohammed El-Kurdi, undersecretary of the ministry, head of the Central Department of sports performance, Dr. Abdul-Awal Mohammed, Assistant Minister of youth and sports, Major General Mohammed Mahmoud, president of the Egyptian Wrestling Federation, Mr. Sherif Mohammed Kamal, president of the Egyptian Hockey Federation, Dr. Shadi Abdel Aziz, treasurer of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation and director of sports affairs at the Academy in Cairo, Amr Shams, board member of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, Anas Abdel Salam, board member of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation, Dr. Dr. Mahmoud Mashali advisor to the president of the Academy for affairs Dr. Ahmed Khalaf, Director of sports departments at the Academy, Dr. Mohammed Abu al-Azm, Dr. Hadi al-Helou and Dr. Yasser al-Shami, deans of Student Affairs at the academy, and Dr. Mohammed Bayoumi, director of the Office of the president of the Academy. The tournament will be held with the participation of 170 players, 96 players, 74 players, 109 coaches and administrators from 42 countries, in addition to 31 officials of the International Federation of modern pentathlon and VIPs, bringing the total number of guests of the tournament among players, coaches, administrators and officials to 310 individuals.
