Graduation Ceremony at Arab Academy Celebrates 420 MBA/DBA Graduates

On the evening of Monday, June 3rd, 2024, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport held a distinguished ceremony at its main headquarters in Abu Qir, Alexandria, to celebrate the graduation of 420 MBA and DBA graduates from the Graduate School of Business. The event was graced by the presence of several high-profile dignitaries, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, and the Governor of the New Valley, Major General Muhammad Al-Zamlot.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from both the academic and governmental spheres, such as Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Academy, Dr. Alaa Abdel-Bari, Vice President of the Academy for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Rajab, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies in Management, Dr. Jim Sullivan, Dean of Business Administration and Scientific Innovation at Marywood University, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Dean of Cardiff Metropolitan Programs.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, commending them for their perseverance and hard work throughout their academic journey. He emphasized that the academy's students are exemplary young individuals poised to shape the future of Egypt and the Arab world. Dr. Sobhi also expressed gratitude towards the academy for its productive collaboration with the ministry, particularly in providing scholarships to athletes, thereby underscoring its significant role in community service and the promotion of sports excellence. He further acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar and the faculty members for their dedication, which culminated in the successful graduation of the students.

Major General Muhammad Al-Zamlot, Governor of the New Valley, also congratulated the graduates, wishing them success in both their academic and professional endeavors. He lauded the academy's pivotal role in training competent Arab youth in leadership and management, affirming that the academy stands as a distinguished Arab scientific institution. Al-Zamlot highlighted the unwavering commitment of Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar to supporting the New Valley Governorate and providing opportunities for its residents. He expressed confidence in the academy's ability to prepare its graduates for successful careers or further academic pursuits.

In his speech, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy, congratulated the graduates and their families, celebrating their hard-earned achievements. He remarked, “Today, we celebrate a new cohort of graduates who have diligently pursued knowledge and are now reaping the rewards of their efforts”. He highlighted that these graduates come from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Libya, and Yemen, having earned their doctorates and professional master's degrees in business administration through a collaborative program with Marywood University in the United States. 

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar concluded by expressing his gratitude to Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, for his support of the academy. He also thanked the various agencies and departments of the General Secretariat for their ongoing cooperation, emphasizing that the academy’s advancements are a result of its sustained collaboration with Arab institutions and universities.

The event was a testament to the Arab Academy's commitment to excellence in education and its significant role in nurturing the next generation of leaders in the Arab world.
