AASTMT President Participation in United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28)

H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag – President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) participated in the activities of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28) that is taking place in Dubai - United Arab Emirates, during the period from 30 November until 12 December 2023. 

It is worth to mention that  AASTMT President participated in a number of forums and workshops organized by Arab and foreign countries, under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit - Secretary General of the League of Arab States. AASTMT President also inspected a number of pavilions of Arab and foreign countries, as through the Arab League Pavilion in the Blue Zone, AASTMT had organized a number of specialized technical sessions, which included a number of different topics.

On the sidelines of the conference, AASTMT President met H.E. Dr. Yasmine Fouad - Egyptian Minister of Environment. They discussed a number of topics related to the Egyptian efforts in dealing with the climate changes within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030. In addition to the efforts of the Ministry of Environment in serving environmental work, supporting youth and sponsoring initiatives. As Egyptian Minister of Environment praised AASTMT role in integrating students into applied procedures in various colleges and contributing to empowering young people in environmental projects.
