AASTMT collaborates with the Government of Aswan for An integrated Project

Governor Ashraf Attia of Aswan has decided to form a technical committee comprising specialists and consultants from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Irrigation, Urban Planning, and Local Authorities to prepare a plan for an integrated open-air museum project (Smart and Eco-Friendly). The museum will be located adjacent to several archaeological sites both east and west of the Nile, contributing to the creation of a new tourist destination that attracts tourism. The project will include an environmental village and a Nubian-style heritage center, along with a cafeteria, recreational areas, and green spaces to capitalize on the scenic panorama, maximizing economic and touristic value for the benefit of the residents of surrounding cities and villages.

Governor Attia emphasized that in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, priority will be given to presenting this promising project to serious investors from the governorate's residents. The project will coincide with the preservation and development of adjacent archaeological sites, enhancing their capacity to receive the expected influx of tourist groups after the project's implementation. This announcement was made during a field tour conducted by Governor Attia to the villagers of Abu Hor, accompanied by Major General Ashraf Fouad, the Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed Furman, the governor's advisor for tourism, antiquities, and visual identity, as well as the heads of Nasr Al-Nuba and Kom Ombo centers. The tour included members of the technical committee and officials from the implementing authorities. During the visit to the proposed project area, Governor Attia received a detailed explanation of the overall concept and scientific proposals from Dr. Abdel Aziz Farouk, head of the architecture department at the Arab Academy, and the project team. The governor emphasized the importance of incorporating infrastructure for the project site, including roads, water supply and sewage networks, electricity, and communications. Additionally, a secure campus for the area will be established, adding to the map of tourist attractions.
