The Arab Ministers of Tourism discussed the future of the tourism system of the Arab Academy
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport hosted on Monday, December 10th, the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism at its 21st ordinary session at its headquarters in Abu Qir, Alexandria.

Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of the General Authority for Touritsm and National Heritage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Professor Dina El Zaher, Director of Transport and Tourism Administration at the Arab League, and Ambassador Kamal Hassan Ali, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the State of Palestine, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, representatives of the League of Arab States, Tourism and representatives of Arab Member States.

The Minister of Tourism, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, said that Egypt welcomes the chairmanship of the Arab Ministerial Meeting on Tourism in the 21st ordinary session, pointing out the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination to promote tourism development in the Arab region and prosperity.
The Egyptian Minister of Tourism stressed the importance of the role played by the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism under the umbrella of the League of Arab States in working to develop the Arab tourism movement and attract more international tourism to the Arab region, confirming the growing importance of the tourism industry.
She stressed also the importance of the role of the Ministerial Council in working to activate a number of lofty goals that seek to achieve greater prosperity for the Arab countries, pointing out that these objectives are to develop the tourism sector in the Arab countries to maximize their contribution to sustainable development, including economic, social, human, educational and environmental.
She added that tourism is one of the most important ways to achieve stronger relations between the Arab countries as well as economic and social eyes.
And stressed the need to make all the efforts required to achieve the desired goals in the tourism sector, and cooperation with Arab countries in this area to reach the desired development of the growth of this vital and important sector. Noting that efforts to develop the sector have become more urgent at this time to expand the economic base and strengthen the capacity for economic and social stability.

She thanked the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport for hosting the meeting of the Ministerial Council and also thanked Dr. Rola Maiaa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the State of Palestine for all efforts exerted during her presidency of the last 20 session of the Council to achieve the desired goals. Tourism in the Arab States and contributed to the overall sustainable development of economic, social and environmental and work on the development of the movement of Arab tourism and the inter-attracting more international tourism to the region
For his part, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in Saudi Arabia, praised the role played by President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic, from his remarkable activity in terms of development and attracting the generations that have practiced development around the world.
His Royal Highness expressed his pleasure at being present at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and said that it is a practical model for joint Arab cooperation which is effectively active within this distinguished edifice because it is a center that affects the areas of public benefit for citizens in the Arab countries.
Prince Sultan bin Salman stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud attaches great importance to the tourism sector, stressing that economic diversification for us is inevitable and is no longer a luxury.
He also referred to the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to support the growth of this important economic sector, which is one of the most important sectors in providing job opportunities, and one of the main alternatives to oil
"We are meeting as ministers and officials responsible for tourism in the Arab countries, an important meeting in a very important period, the period of the need for economic growth in light of fluctuation of oil prices in some areas where it is an important economic resource
"There are very important models in the Arab world, such as what Egypt has done in the past, and also what is currently being done to make a structural change in the process of seeing the growth of tourism and the criterion for successful tourism," he said.
He added that the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage is one of the largest governmental institutions today concerned with the development of the economy and employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia

For her part, Dr. Rola Maiaa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities in the State of Palestine, the importance of implementing the Arab strategy for tourism and providing the material and logistic resources for its implementation. This will have a positive effect in pushing forward the progress of Arab tourism and elevating it to the ranks of the first countries attracting tourists.
She also stressed the importance of inter-Arab tourism between the Arab countries and the need to start practical steps towards it because of its positive impact in the development of tourism.
I take this opportunity to remind you of the decision of your distinguished Council at its previous session to hold an emergency meeting of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in Palestine.
And the desire to visit Palestine.
"I would like to thank Prince Sultan bin Salman, Chairman of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Honorary Chairman of the Arab Organization for Tourism and the Arab Organization for the Selection of Jerusalem as the Arab Tourism Capital of 2018, pointing out that the choice of Jerusalem as the capital of Arab tourism The interest of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism reflects the historical and religious status of Jerusalem and the consolidation of its status in the Arab memory. The Academy has directed the General Secretariat over the past years to host the meetings of the Ministerial Technical Councils of the League of Arab States and as one of the armaments of the League of Arab States.
Prof. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Academy, said: "The Academy has always endeavored to fulfill its basic mission as a beacon of knowledge, a castle of excellence and a landmark in our Arab world, representing one of the most important and important landmarks in the field of joint Arab action.

He pointed out that the ultimate goal of the Academy is to meet the needs of our Arab community of productive and effective human elements in order to promote our nation and achieve sustainable development, so that our peoples will be good and prosperous.
He expressed the hope that the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport will continue to support and support the Arab brothers in all fields. The Academy has many potentials through its faculties and specialized institutes, which have developed during the previous period and which are in the interest of supporting qualified human resources to carry out their humanitarian and national duties. And to complete the march of building our Arab countries.
He said that we always work in coordination with all organizations and unions related to joint Arab action. We are always happy to cooperate and adhere to our duty towards all that we are mandated by the Council or the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
Abdul Ghaffar said, "I wish your Council every success and payment and come up with many recommendations that support our Arab peoples and our countries and work on tourism development in the Arab world and promote the Arab tourism sector, which contributes to the development and strengthening of a number of other sectors in the economy such as infrastructure, transportation, In the tourism sector is an investment in all these areas and leads to upgrading and revitalization.
The Arab Ministers of Tourism, the heads of delegations of the Member States and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States participating in the activities of the 21st session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Tourism attended the parade organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport on the occasion of the current session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Tourism.
