Signing a joint cooperation agreement between ‎the Arab Academy for Maritime Transport and the ‎Arab Maritime Company for Petroleum Transport

Dr Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag President of the Arab ‎Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport ‎hosted HE Mr Sulaiman Ibrahim Al-Bassam Director of the Arab ‎Maritime Transport Company and the accompanying ‎delegation from the State of Iraq on Wednesday 7th February ‎‎2018 at the main campus AbuKir of the Arab Academy ‎Alexandria

The visit comes out of the importance of activating the ‎joint Arab action between the educational training and ‎specialized research institutions and the companies and human ‎resources working in the field of maritime transport and ‎activating its role to develop the latest educational systems to ‎cope with the enormous changes in the fields of marine ‎science engineering and administrative sciences international ‎transport sciences and logistics

The agreement was signed between Dr Ismail Abdel ‎Ghaffar President of the Arab Academy and the Iraqi side by Mr ‎Sulaiman Ibrahim Al Bassam Director of the Arab Maritime ‎Transport Company

The agreement aims to prepare Iraqi human resources to ‎work on the Iraqi fleet as maritime commercial officers and ‎marine engineers so that Iraqi expatriates get a bachelor s ‎degree in Marine transportation technology marine ‎engineering technology and certificates qualified to work on ‎commercial vessels

HE Mr Sulaiman Ibrahim Al Bassam Director of the Arab ‎Maritime Transport Company praised the active role played by ‎the officials at the Academy headed by Dr Ismail Abdel Ghaffar ‎in making this development in the scientific area of the ‎Academy He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the ‎leadership of the Academy for their warm hospitality

He also entitled that the agreement aims to develop and ‎improve Iraqi cadre s qualifications as well as enabling a ‎permanent contact and communication with the Arab Academy ‎benefiting from The Arab Academy s expertise through the past ‎years in this Maritime field ‎
For his part Dr Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag ‎President of the Academy said that the agreement is one of the ‎practical expressions of the strategic partnership between the ‎Academy and the various organizations in the Arab countries ‎based on the importance of joint Arab action

Iraq will remain Iraq he said Iraq is a country that is dear to all ‎of us as Arabs It is one of the pillars and the main forces in the ‎Arab region

The visit included a tour of the Iraqi delegation at the Academy ‎through a visit to the Planetarium Center the integrated ‎simulation complex the Institute of Maritime Safety and the ‎College of Maritime Transport and Technology

At the end of the visit HE Dr Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag ‎presented a shield and souvenirs to the Director of the ‎Maritime Transport Company Mr Sulaiman Ibrahim Al Bassam ‎and the delegation accompanying his sovereignty
