Delivery and installation of the third and final phase of the training units developed for the Regional Institute of River Transport

Delivery and installation of the third and final phase of the training units developed for the Regional Institute of River Transport on Sunday 13th of November 2022. All units were designed and developed by the department of Research and Development (R&D) using the Industry Service Complex (ISC) lab facilities and resources according to an agreement between the River Transport Authority (RTA), which is affiliated with the Ministry of Transport, and the Maritime Research and Consultation Center (MRCC) of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).
The training units developed show the different parts of ships and river floats that help in leveraging the level of practical training conducted by the Regional Institute of River Transport at the River Transport Authority (RTA), where a total of eight models have been developed by the ISC and delivered in three phases. The Research and Development team of the ISC delivered and installed the different units furthermore, the R&D team conducted demonstrations and basic training on how to operate the units at the institute.
The third and final stage was a training unit of a two-stroke marine diesel engine with all its accessories. Different cross-sections were made in the engine to show how it actually works including devices and other auxiliary engines, all of which are illustrated with guide plates, indicator lights, and control switches which help in demonstrating how the engine works and how to discover faults and repair them. The other seven training units that were delivered in previous phases of the project included a four-stroke marine diesel engine, a marine group with a control simulator, sections for oil and diesel pumps with dynamo and sprinkler units, and a demonstration of how to charge batteries.
Representatives from the River Transport Authority (RTA) have complimented all the training models developed by the ISC in terms of being in conformity with the latest training specifications, the fact that the models are a real representation of different ship components, and even the international and colour codes used that fulfil the aim of development of these units for use in education and practical training.
