The College of Language and Communication Hosts Opening Session with the Autonomous University of Barcelona

In Collaboration with The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the College of Language & Communication at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport hosted the opening session of the Multimedia & Web design course which will last for one week with the purpose of enhancing students’ competencies with a focus on Multimedia and Sports Newspapers. The course is given by Celia Andreu, Xavier Ortuño and Oscar Corominas, visiting professors from UAB, as part of the cooperation protocol with AAST, enriching the tracks of collaboration between both institutions.
The opening session started with a word by Professor Samy Tayie, AAST President Consultant for Media Colleges Affairs. Dr. Tayie highlighted the ongoing efforts to maintain and expand the 9 year old collaboration between both universities. This was followed by a word by Professor Adel Belal the Vice President of AASTMT for Education Affairs, who greeted the attending professors from the UAB and AAST and praised the collaboration between both institutions in different fields and specializations.
Professor Mohamed El-Nashar, Dean of the College of Language and Communication greeted the attendees highlighting the educational and strategic importance of the collaboration with UAB. This was followed by a word by the representatives of the different faculties at UAB, including Professor Maria Jose Recoder, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences & and Professor Santiago Tejedor Calvo, Director of the Department of Journalism at UAB. The session was also attended by several representatives from different faculties of the AAST and the UAB such as the Pharmacy, Law, Computer Science, Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.
