Monday Evening, December 20, 2021, Prof. Akram Soliman Elselmy, Dean of Port Training Institute and Professor of Port Planning and Coastal Engineering at the Arab Academy, has attended the fifth meeting of the Working Group in charge of the Activities of PIANC in the field of Inland Waterways for preparing an Infrastructure Development Guide to Facilitate Tourism, which is organized by The World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) via an online platform.

The working group meets regularly every month, moreover, the March, 2022 meeting is expected to be held on the sidelines of the International Maritime Transport and Logistics conference “Marlog 11”, which is organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) from 20th to 22nd of March 2022 in Alexandria, Egypt.
It is worth mentioning that the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) is an international organization founded in 1885, it is headquartered in Brussels (Belgium) and concerned with providing guidance and technical advice for a sustainable waterborne transport infrastructure to ports, marinas and waterways.
