Intended Learning Outcomes 1.Knowledge and Understanding By the end of this course students should be able to : 1-1 illustrate the history of the documentary cinema. 1-2 understand the basics of writing documentary scripts . 1-3 acquire an overview of the different stages of documentary production 1-4 recognize the basics of choosing ideas for documentaries . 1-5 understand the fundamentals of preparation for documentaries . 1-6 describe the elements of photography in documentaries . 1-7 determine the basics of editing documentaries . 1-8 recognize the directing principles in documentaries . 1-9 explain the fundamentals of documentaries production . 1-10 define the documentary cinema. 1-11 understand the main features of documentary cinema production. 1-12 mention the objectives of documentary cinema. 1-13 explain the methods of preparation and implementation of documentary cinema . 2.Intellectual Skills By the end of this course students should be able to: 2-1 practice how production of documentaries is set 2- 2 Plan for the production of documentary films and programs. 2-3 Criticize documentary films. 2-4 Analyze current events and the social problems in society. 3. Professional and Practical skills By the end of this course students should be able to: 3-1 Create a short documentary. 3-2 Apply documentary interviewing techniques. 3-3 Use still and video cameras. 3-4 Prepare documentary programs and films. 3-5 Utilize different production equipment and use of all equipment and machinery necessary for documentary production (Cameras, studio Camera/portable camera) – switcher- lighting- linear and nonlinear editing-sound equipment (microphones – sound mixer). 4. General and Transferable skills By the end of this course students should be able to: 4-1 Apply practical and professional problem-solving. 4-2 Develop and enhance teamwork. 4-3 Use computers and the Internet.
