Regional Working Group on Artificial Intelligence” Second workshop at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States
Within the strengthening of cooperation between the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in supporting the joint Arab action, and under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit - Secretary General of the League of Arab States, AASTMT under the chairmanship of H.E. Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag – AASTMT President, and the “Sustainable Development Department” under the chairmanship of H.E. Minister Plenipotentiary Nada Al-Agizi - Director of Sustainable Development and International Cooperation Department of the League of Arab States, organized the activities of the second workshop of the Regional Working Group for Artificial Intelligence, under the title “The Role of Artificial Intelligence Applications in Accelerating the Pace of Implementing Sustainable Development Goals in the Arab Region”.
The workshop activities were held during the period 12 -13 December 2023, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, in implementation of the decisions of the 112th session of the Economic and Social Council. The workshop was held, with the participation of (14) Arab countries, including a group of officials from Arab organizations and institutions, and international organizations, including ACSAD (Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Land), the Arab Labor Organization (ALO), the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, the Arab Tourism Organization and the United Nations Economis and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in addition to the participation of a number of AASTMT officials.
