UPGRADE''s First Anniversary

The AASTMT-UPGRADE team held an event at AASTMT Alexandria for the dissemination of UPGRADE and celebrating its first anniversary among the department`s faculty, staff and students.

·         Presentation of the project

The first session of the event consisted of presenting the project to Professors, Teaching Assistants, and Students from the Architectural department in AASTMT. The presentation included the project’s structure, participating partners, timeline, building capacities, dissemination events, the SUMP lab, and most importantly the newly developed courses. A brief introduction was given about Transport for Cairo, as they represent the future path for students wanting to proceed with this field.

An open discussion was conducted after the presentation. It mainly included a discussion about the sustainability of the lab after the timeframe of the project. The general feedback was positive and encouraging. Attendees showed an appreciation for the value of the effort put into the project by the team members.

·         Celebration

Team members prepared and distributed several dissemination materials (notebooks, pen, SUMP information cards) to the attendees, containing the project logo and information. A large banner was hanged in the central atrium to be visible from all floors, and a roll up was placed in front of the booth.

After the project’s presentation, the team members invited attendees to celebrate altogether one year of the project. A cake with the project’s logo was distributed to attendees.

About Us

UPGRADE is an Erasmus+ Joint Regional Project, aimed Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education. It aims at reinforcing the links between the research and education sector and the business sector within the society at large. The project employs multidisciplinary education and research in order to identify and address key urban planning and mobility challenges faced by an unprivileged sector of the society through presenting innovative urban planning and mobility solutions.
