Work Package 1

1. WP1: PREPARATION- Investigation of Educational, Research, and Market Needs for Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning

UNIVAQ (Italy), Co-leader: UoB (Lebanon)

WP1 aims at identifying the educational, research, and market needs for Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning studies in HEIs of Partner Countries. The surveyed needs will cover programme courses as well as university facilities (e.g. lab equipment, library resources, etc.).
WP1 provides an opportunity for collaboration between the higher education sector (represented by Beneficiary Universities) and the society (represented by local NGOs) to address the Urban Mobility challenges of unprivileged sectors of society. WP1 employs socio-demographic databases obtained from local NGOs into research undertaken by students in Beneficiary Universities. WP1 also aims to investigate the labour market needs in terms of the skills required by transportation business corporations targeting Urban Mobility Planning. Thereby, WP1 creates a strong link between the Education, Research, and Business sectors and the Society, where each sector benefits from information and findings provided by the other.
