Objectives
- This course is designed to cover an introductory level overview of
bioinformatics. It covers commonly used bioinformatics tools and
algorithms as well as standard formats, with the focus on DNA/RNA
sequence and sequencing data analysis. Students will be able to search
and retrieve information from genomic and proteomic databases, as well
as compare and analyze sequences, construct phylogenetic
trees.Additionally, This course will teach how AI is applied in the field of
bioinformatics. Exploring how AI, machine learning, deep learning, and
natural language processing concepts are used in the design and
discovery of drugs, as well as for modelling complex biological systems.
