Cataloging and Classification Department

The Cataloging and Classification department performs the technical procedures to make information resources of books, references, theses, and projects ready for use. In doing so, the department employs the latest techniques in cataloging and classification through using the "Library of Congress Subject Headings" to perform subject analysis of materials, and the "Library of Congress" rules to describe the physical details of resources. As for classification, the department uses "Dewey Decimal Classification" to code and organize resources and allocate a call number. Finally, for the material to be ready for use, data is entered to the Library's computerized system, so it is easy for the user to search and browse the Library collection of books, references, theses, and projects.
