The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) has implemented pioneering measures to combat food waste, transforming 550 kg daily of waste into composite fertilizers, significantly reducing environmental impact, and promoting sustainability. This strategic initiative, adopted across all campuses, establishes a closed-loop system that minimizes waste while enhancing the university's aesthetics. AASTMT also supports financially constrained students by offering free or discounted meals and scholarships, ensuring an inclusive and conducive learning environment. Furthermore, the academy prioritizes food security for its community, providing convenient and wholesome meal options both on and off campus. AASTMT's commitment to inclusivity extends to offering diverse plant-based meals, encouraging healthy dietary practices and sustainable choices. Additionally, the academy collaborates with partners like the Egyptian Agricultural Bank, Matrouh Governorate, Halwany Brothers, African Bank for Development, and the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme to provide full scholarships, practical training, and mentoring sessions, emphasizing education and entrepreneurship growth in the region and furthering efforts towards regional food security and agribusiness prosperity.
