Entry Process

DP Course Entry Process Student Required Documents

Dynamic Positioning Awareness Course:

  • None

Dynamic Positioning Induction Course:
Copy of:

  • Seaman Book (Original must be available and one copy).
  • National Passport (Original must be available and one copy).
  • Certificate of Competency (Original must be available and one copy)*
  • Statement of fact from the Maritime College for cadets.
  • Personal Photos (3).

Dynamic Positioning Simulator/Advanced Course:

  • Attendance and completion of Dynamic Positioning Induction Course.
  • Documented practical experience in the use of DP systems on DP vessels for a minimum period of 60 days as a trainee DPO.
  • The practical experience referred to should be in accordance with chapter C in the NI DP operator logbook – Seagoing Familiarization Watch keeping.
  • Seaman Book (Original must be available and one copy).
  • National Passport (Original must be available and one copy).
  • Personal photos (3).
  • Certificate of Competency (Original must be available and one copy)*
  • Statement of Fact letter from your offshore company stating the DP Sea time that has been logged in your DP log Book (Original must be available and one copy).

* Cadets in NI training scheme are permitted to do phase a, b and c of the DP training scheme with a maximum of 60 days sea time, the last 60 days sea time will be required after obtaining COC

Dynamic Positioning Maintenance Course:

  • Attendance and completion of Dynamic Positioning Simulator/Advanced Course.
  • Seaman Book (Original must be available and one copy).
  • National Passport (Original must be available and one copy).
  • Personal photos (3).
  • Certificate of Competency (Original must be available and one copy).
  • Suitable preparation or experience in maritime electronic systems, electronics and computer-based control Systems. A perception of vessel navigation and maneuvering would be advantageous.

Sea Time Reduction:

  • Attendance and completion of Dynamic Positioning Simulator/Advanced course.
  • Seaman Book (Original must be available and one copy).
  • National Passport (Original must be available and one copy).

Dynamic Positioning Revalidation Course:

  • DPO certificate issued by The NI.
  • The practical experience should be recorded in a proper log book or documentation.
  • Seaman Book (Original must be available and one copy).
  • National Passport (Original must be available and one copy).

Dynamic Positioning Refresher and Competency Assessment Course:

  • DPO certificate issued by The NI.
  • The practical experience should be recorded in a proper log book or documentation.
  • Seaman Book (Original must be available and one copy).
  • National Passport (Original must be available and one copy).

Cancellation Policy

 

We require 14 days cancellation notice prior to your scheduledarrival, otherwise we will charge you cancellation fee as below:

  • 10% off your total amount will be charged if you do not notify usabout your cancellation or any changes by 14 to 8 days beforeyour scheduled arrival.
  • 30% off of your total amount will be charged if you do not notifyus about your cancellation or any changes by 7 to 3 days beforeyour scheduled arrival.
  • 50% off of your total amount will be charged if you do not notifyus about your cancellation or any changes by 2 days or less beforeyour scheduled arrival.
