For more than 50 years, AASTMT has been dedicated to empowering the community. In 2022 it has topped the Egyptian Universities in SDG #1 for the Quality of Education in The Times Higher Education, The Impact Ranking. Today, AASTMT continues to contribute to a ‘Sustainable Community’ through education, research and stewardship. In that sense, AASTMT remarkably climbs up the ranks in its progress towards the UN SDGs (Read more about the SDGS). This effort is a result of a strategic integration of fields of study (Read more about our different areas of studies at AASTMT),Colleges, Research Units and highly distinguished academic staff members.
In 2022 it has topped the Egyptian Universities in SDG #1 for the Quality of Education at THE Impact Ranking. Later in 2023, AASTMT topped the Egyptian Universities in two of the most critical goals worldwide, SDG #13 for Climate Action and SDG #8 for Decent Work and Economic Growth. Our activities in the field of climate actions include developing comprehensive sustainability curricula and pioneering carbon reduction initiatives.With regards to the rank of Decent Work and Economic Growth, AASTMT has focused on student training and boosting decent work practices.In 2022, AASTMT was ranked 22nd among Universities worldwide in SDG #7 , which focuses on Affordable and Clean Energy in THE Impact Ranking. This year, in 2023, AASTMT reached #2 in Egypt on two other significant goals, SDG #6 for Clean Water and Sanitation and SDG #12 for Responsible Consumption and Production.
With regards to the rank of Clean Water and Sanitation, AASTMT has focused on on conducting applied research projects on its campuses that combine both research and practical solutions to address water challenges. Additionally, AASTMT has focused on increasing its social and community engagement through various initiatives such as awareness campaigns, educational programs, and partnerships with local communities, aiming to promote responsible water usage and sanitation practices.
