The Robotak initiative is a collaboration between the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport. In terms of coverage, this initiative is national in scope and free grant. The Goals include empowering young people between the ages of 7 and 17 with 21st century skills and teaching them to code and programme robots. It all started in early 2020, during the height of the corona epidemic. A combination of online and offline methods is used to provide the project's services. The online materials are made available via the YouTube channel by AASTMT Instructor. There are both previously recorded and live sessions available online. The offline material is delivered in the form of all-day, hands-on boot camps. Every camp is a four-day experience. Six such camps have been set up in the towns of tenth of Ramadan, Aswan, Beni Suef, el Arish, and Alexandria.
The total number of subscribers so far has exceeded 30,000 subscribers, distributed over all governorates of the Republic, in addition to some Egyptians from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America. The project has two levels so far. Each level is divided into two parts according to the age of the participants. Work is in progress on the third level. The project aims to teach school students programming, robotics, twenty-first century skills and artificial intelligence.
