International Gymnastics Championships Promoting Cultural Exchange and Sustainability
As part of its efforts to promote international sports and cultural engagement while linking these activities to sustainability practices, the Academy, through the Deanship of Student Affairs and in collaboration with student organizations, organized three international gymnastics championships during the academic year.
These championships represent an important component of the Academy’s international cultural activities, providing a platform for cultural exchange among students of diverse nationalities and encouraging discipline, organization, and the sustainable management of large-scale events.
Key features of these championships included:
- International Participation: Student teams from international universities participated in the events, fostering international cooperation, cross-cultural understanding, and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
- Accompanying Cultural Activities: Seminars and workshops were organized for participating students and visitors to highlight the role of sports in promoting sustainability, international collaboration, and cultural awareness.

International Youth Day – Youth Engagement Forum

Aswan International Festival for Culture and Arts – Student Cultural Participation

In celebration of the solar alignment on the face of King Ramses II and within the 12th Aswan International Festival for Culture and Arts, students of the South Valley Branch attended diverse folklore performances. The event featured 26 cultural troupes from 14 countries, showcasing rich cultural heritage and promoting cross-cultural exchange under the supervision of the Student Affairs Cultural and Social Activities Department.
7th Arab Conference on Communication & Public Relations – Student Participation

Sudanese Folklore Day – Cultural Heritage Showcase

Students of the South Valley Branch, under the supervision of the Student Affairs Department, presented an immersive Sudanese cultural experience. The event featured traditional folklore performances, authentic Sudanese cuisine, a showcase of heritage attire, cultural gifts, and a live reenactment of a traditional Sudanese wedding, reflecting the richness and diversity of Sudanese heritage.

-Art & Craft Workshops: Specialized technical and cultural workshops, such as the Art of Macrame and Rope Formation. These sessions teach students traditional maritime crafts (forming ropes with beads and stones), blending professional skills with cultural expression.
-College Heritage Decorations: CFAT students participate in annual cultural decorating competitions, specifically during the Ramadan and New Year seasons, where the college building and entrances are transformed to reflect Egyptian maritime and religious heritage.
-Fisheries Social Integration Program: Part of the college's cultural mission involves social responsibility trips, including visits to local maritime communities and elderly care facilities, aimed at fostering a sense of social belonging and professional ethics.

By blending art and archaeology, Dr. Khamis illustrated how ancient Egyptian civilization remains a living legacy, aligning with global goals to safeguard and protect the world’s cultural heritage (SDG 11.4). He highlighted the role of drama and cinema in reviving historical awareness and correcting misconceptions, ensuring that heritage is accurately preserved for future generations. This session emphasized that protecting cultural identity is essential for a sustainable future, empowering students to engage with their history not just as a past record, but as a foundation for modern identity and long-term heritage conservation.
Intercultural Day is a vibrant college event that serves as a platform for cultural sustainability, where students come together to celebrate and safeguard global intangible heritage.
