Advancing Innovation for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region
The College of Pharmacy at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport participated in a scientific workshop hosted by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in collaboration with The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS-AREP), focusing on innovation and technology for sustainable development in the Arab region.
During the event, the Dean delivered a lecture on the role of institutions in fostering innovation, highlighting the importance of academic support, strategic planning, and technological advancement in building an innovation-driven economy. The workshop also emphasized strengthening public–private partnerships and supporting young Arab researchers through specialized training programs aimed at advancing their scientific and professional development.
Empowering Women Leaders for Sustainable Development
The College of Pharmacy at AASTMT Main Campus actively participated in the ‘She is the Driver of Development’ Forum, organized in collaboration with the National Council for Women Egypt.
Prof. Amira Mostafa Sanbel, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, chaired a key panel discussion titled ‘From Leadership to Impact: Women Leading Sustainability,’ featuring prominent national figures. Reviving Alexandria’s Heritage through Innovation
AASTMT Main Campus participated in the ‘Reviving the Memory of Alexandria’ conference at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in collaboration with UNESCO. Prof. Amira Mostafa Sanbel highlighted the Academy’s strong ties to Alexandria and its commitment to preserving cultural heritage. As part of its community service role and commitment to social responsibility, the College of International Transport and Logistics (CITL) organized a community outreach visit on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, to Abwab Al-Jannah Orphanage (formerly known as I‘rafni Orphanage), in cooperation with Sawa Family, a student-led initiative founded by CITL students.
The visit witnessed active participation from the College’s students, who provided gifts and moral support in an atmosphere marked by compassion, cooperation, and genuine human connection.
The College emphasized that this visit comes within a series of community initiatives implemented in collaboration with Sawa Family, aiming to enhance humanitarian awareness among students, encourage positive community engagement, and strengthen the link between academic education and core human values.

7-Seminar entitled: From Reaction to Prediction: The Role of Risk Intelligence in Modern Supply Chains. The seminar highlighted how modern supply chains are evolving from traditional reactive approaches to proactive, predictive strategies in managing risks. Students explored how global supply chains today face growing uncertainty due to geopolitical tensions, climate change, cyber threats, and supplier instability. |
CITL has played an active role in organizing and contributing to events related to environment and sustainability through its academic, research, and partnership activities. One clear example is the conference “Logistics Revolution: Paving the Path for Sustainable Economic Growth,” which focused on the connection between logistics development, sustainability, and long-term economic resilience. CITL also supported dissemination, consultation, and knowledge-sharing events under the LEAD-MENA Erasmus+, the SOFT Project, and the SPEEDUP Entrepreneurship Media & Acceleration Hubs initiative, especially in areas related to capacity building, innovation, educational development, and stakeholder engagement. In addition, CITL’s work on the Damietta Furniture City Development, Growth and Sustainability Study, the Study on Establishing a Logistics Zone on the Sudanese Border, the Integrated Green Hydrogen Supply Chain Study, and the Study on Establishing an Arab Mechanism and Database to Support the Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Industry in Arab Countries involved technical discussions, consultation meetings, and knowledge-exchange activities linked to sustainability, resilience, infrastructure efficiency, and regional connectivity. Together, these events reflect CITL’s continued commitment to promoting sustainability through conferences, workshops, consultations, technical dialogue, and research communication.

This campaign mobilized students to reduce single-use plastics and support carbon-footprint reduction on campus.

This event connected climate change science, global warming, mitigation, adaptation, and sustainability planning.
3. Corporate Sustainability and ESG Reporting training, CFAT, July 2024
This training built capacity in sustainability reporting, ESG reporting, greenhouse gas management, and institutional sustainability practice.
4. Climate Change and Remote Sensing Applications training, August 2024
This training supported practical skills in early warning, flood and drought risk assessment, water resources monitoring, and climate-risk analysis.
5. Vision 2030 Forum contribution
AASTMT participated in climate policy dialogue related to mitigation, adaptation, sustainability, and national development priorities.
6. Green Peace and Sustainable Resilience Forum

AASTMT participated in training and capacity-building activities for climate-risk monitoring, adaptation planning, early-warning design, and resilience for rural and coastal communities.
15. UniGreen Project workshops and national competition
AASTMT participated in the UniGreen initiative with Life Makers Foundation and European Union support. The activity engaged youth in greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions reduction, renewable energy, waste solutions, and WEFE innovation through workshops, bootcamps, and competition activities.
16. Coastal Cities NGO and multi-partner workshops
These workshops connected NGOs, researchers, and policymakers to address sea-level rise, erosion, extreme weather, adaptation literacy, and practical early-warning knowledge.
