4.3.3- Vocational training events (lifelong learning)

As part of this commitment, AAST hosts various events and workshops (ad-hoc and programmed) that are open to the general public. These events are tailored to provide practical and hands-on learning experiences to individuals who are not necessarily part of the university's regular student body. The programs offered under this umbrella fall into two main categories:

  1. Executive Education Programs: AAST offers executive education programs that cater to professionals and individuals seeking specialized knowledge and skill enhancement. These programs are designed to meet the specific needs of the industry and cover a wide range of topics. They are typically short-term courses and workshops, making them accessible to working professionals who wish to further their careers or expand their expertise.
  2. Vocational Training: AAST's commitment to lifelong learning extends to vocational training as well. These programs are designed to equip participants with practical skills and knowledge that are immediately applicable in various industries. Vocational training programs are an excellent choice for those looking to enter the workforce or enhance their employability.

Port Training Institute (PTI)

Within our set of institutes dedicated to supporting Executive Education Programs and Vocational Training, the Port Training Institute (PTI) stands out with its remarkable four decades of experience. PTI boasts an extensive infrastructure consisting of 13 departments and an impressive range of over 425 training programs. Throughout its history, PTI has effectively trained a substantial number of more than 100000 trainees.

The Productivity and Quality Institute(PQI)

 offers executive educational programs and consultancy services for companies, hospitals, and government sectors. These programs include capacity building for companies, Ministry of Manpower personnel training in health and safety, and Human Resources development at Alexandria Governorate General Court. They also provide consultancy in areas such as quality management, environmental management, food safety, occupational health and safety, energy management, social responsibility, and more. PQI has conducted workshops and online sessions to support various sectors in Egypt.

Technical and Vocational Institute (TVI)

provides vocational training through advanced applied educational programs to fulfill industry demands. These programs are accredited by Person BTEC. Technical and Vocational Institute leads towards “skills developments that meet industry needs and help young people prosper” through quality improvement exchanges.

Community service and continuing education center

Provide training courses for general public- young people from 4 to 16 years old-Through the summer program, a program that was prepared by a group of experts in the scientific and educational field in order to provide scientific and recreational content together to develop the skills of young people and discover their talents and explore their skills and capabilities that have not yet been discovered. The courses are in different fields like:

  • Computer courses
  • Graphic design courses
  • Languages courses
  • Design & craft
  • Robot building

The International Examination Centre (I.E.C)

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport offers a comprehensive range of international exams and preparation courses tailored to diverse linguistic proficiency levels. These services cater to candidates of all ages, nationally and internationally, and hold global recognition from educational institutions. The Cambridge Authorized Testing and Preparation Centre (EG230), a part of I.E.C, conducts various Cambridge exams, IELTS exams in collaboration with IDP Australia, and administers the Occupational English Test (OET) in Alexandria and Cairo. The center’s success in running exams based on international standards is noteworthy.

The Cambridge Authorized Testing and Preparation Centre covers exams for young learners, schools, adults, business, and teaching qualifications. The centre also offers international English Exam Preparation courses aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Additionally, the Cambridge Summer School program helps school students prepare for Cambridge exams and Young Learners assessments.

I.E.C facilitates the administration of the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course, an introductory program for individuals with minimal or no English language teaching experience. It aims to elevate English as a foreign language teaching to a professional level by focusing on practical skills and face-to-face teaching practice. CELTA is widely recognized globally as a solid foundation for English language teaching, showcasing thorough training, experience, and fundamental knowledge for teachers.
