SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 4

SDG4 Report (2021/2022)

In pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) and a commitment to fostering accessible, quality education, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) has made remarkable strides across various dimensions of educational development. AASTMT stands out in providing qualifications for primary school teaching, ensuring its graduates are equipped to meet the rigorous standards required at this foundational level.

The institution's dedication to lifelong learning is evident through a comprehensive framework that encompasses diverse measures, from the provision of free access to educational resources like computers, libraries, online courses, and lectures, to offering free courses leading to certificates or awards. AASTMT's commitment extends beyond traditional academic boundaries, with free access to campus facilities and equipment, making education a community-wide endeavor.

The institution actively engages in hosting public events and vocational training opportunities open to the public, including executive education programs, thereby contributing to the dissemination of knowledge. Furthermore, AASTMT has embraced an education outreach ethos, conducting tailored lectures and demonstrations in local schools and communities. The institution's adherence to an inclusive lifelong learning access policy ensures that educational opportunities are available to all, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, disability, immigration status, or gender.

Additionally, AASTMT's commitment to tracking and increasing student enrollment metrics, particularly the number of students starting degree programs and the inclusion of first-generation students, underscores its dedication to advancing education and inclusivity. In essence, AASTMT's comprehensive approach to SDG4 criteria not only enriches its immediate community but also sets a commendable standard for fostering a future where education is a continual pursuit accessible to everyone.
