The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) allocate substantial resources to enhance opportunities for students from low-income backgrounds through a wide range of ongoing programs and initiatives designed to promote educational equity and ensure that students can pursue their academic goals without facing financial or social barriers. These programs are supervised by the Dean of Student Affairs in coordination with the relevant administrative departments. Among the most notable initiatives are the following:

  1. Annual Financial Assistance Program:

This program is administered by a specialized committee responsible for assessing the students’ social and financial circumstances. Partial or full tuition fee reductions may be granted to students who are determined to be financially disadvantaged, following a review of the submitted documentation.

  1. “Students First” Initiative:

This initiative is designed to support students facing financial and academic challenges by facilitating installment-based tuition payment options and providing continuous psychological and academic support to minimize the risk of student dropout.

  1. Housing and Living Support:

Targeted discounts are offered to financially disadvantaged students residing in university housing, covering both accommodation and daily meals, with the possibility of full exemption in specific social circumstances.

  1. Social Scholarships:

The Academy offers either partial or full scholarships based on an assessment of family income and academic merit to ensure equal opportunities for all students.

  1. Social and Psychological Support Services:

These enhancements aim to enable a larger number of students to continue their university education and achieve their academic aspirations.

The Academy has also strengthened its cooperation with these institutions—both locally and internationally—by broadening partnership channels and improving coordination mechanisms.
