The German University in Cairo, GUC, is an Egyptian Private University founded by the presidential decree 27/2002, according to the law number 101/1992 and its executive regulations number 355/1996.

The Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology (IET) at the German University in Cairo (GUC) offers several degrees with significant professional scopes in Electronics, Communications, and Networks. The primary degree is an International Bachelor of Science in Information Engineering and Technology, which is a 4-year, 8-semester program. Graduates can then pursue an International Master of Science in Information Engineering and Technology, a 3-semester program, with the possibility of achieving an Egyptian Bachelor's degree in Engineering after an additional year of study. All IET Bachelor and Master programs are internationally accredited by ACQUIN.

Dr. Mohammed Abdel-Megeed Salem:
is a Professor of Image and Vision Computing at the Faculty of Media Engineering and Technology, German University in Cairo (GUC), where he has been a faculty member since 2016, achieving a professorship in October 2021. Prior to his time at GUC, he served as an Assistant Professor at Ain Shams University. Dr. Salem earned his D.Sc. in December 2008 from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Germany, specializing in Multiresolution Image Segmentation with a grade of "magna cum laude". His expertise is in machine learning and computer vision, and he is actively engaged in supervising graduate students and managing funded projects. He also holds a consultancy role as AI Chef at ITQAN for Smart Solutions, leading research and technical development for 3D Vision and AR/VR Solutions. Dr. Salem's research impact is reflected in his 21 H-Index on Google Scholar and his publications cover advanced topics like Federated Learning for People Re-identification and Emotion Detection, and Optimized Spatiotemporal Networks for Abnormal Action Recognition.
