Research is increasingly focused on generating practical solutions and innovations that address societal challenges like climate change, poverty, and health inequalities. This shift in focus reflects growing pressure on universities to contribute meaningfully to society. (3)The movement towards open science encourages open access to research findings and data, fostering collaboration and accelerating the pace of discovery. This trend is facilitated by advancements in technology and changing research norms. As research funding becomes more competitive, universities are seeking diverse sources of funding, including partnerships with industry, government, and philanthropic organizations. This trend requires them to demonstrate the impact and relevance of their research. (4)

RADIO responds to the general objective of the Program to support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional, and personal development of people in education. It also supports multilateral partnerships between HEIs in consortium countries. The project responds to the Green Deal priority where the research areas cover the environmental issues and climate change dilemma called upon by the UN SDGs.

The main added value from the cooperation between the partners in this project is the multi-discipline nature of the project. This collaboration is highly needed to achieve the current education plan. The collaboration with high ranked international universities will directly add good value for the academic staff and student in all universities. This will give the opportunity to apply results on the real application. Therefore, the most important results of the project is to enhance and strengthen the collaborative efforts between the academic and industrial departments in companies. Regarding the effect on the academic direction, The project will strengthen a multidisciplinary teaching and research track in different research areas. The dissemination of the research know-how will also include organization of scientific workshops in each country. This will give the opportunity for the staff and students to be updated with the most recent results in different research directions.

The project will deliver 8 Intellectual Outputs ; In specific, the project’s objectives are as follow:
