Contribute to the safe operation of a ship subject to the IGF Code
Design and operational characteristics of ships subject to the IGF Code
Basic knowledge of the associated hazards
Carry out firefighting operations on a ship subject to the IGF Code
Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of fuels found on ships subject to the IGF Code
Awareness of function of gas-measuring instruments and similar equipment
Basic knowledge of emergency procedures including emergency shutdown (response to emergency)

Course Exercise

Natural Gas and Petrochemicals

This course offers a basic training for all seafarers responsible for designated safety duties associated with the care, use or in emergency response to the fuel on board ships subject to the IGF code. To demonstrate their competence in safety for ships using gases or other low-flash point fuels, as set out in table A-V/3-1 of the STCW code.
