Welcome to the department of Basic and Applied Sciences. The department provides first year engineering students with the necessary scientific background ahead of the departmental courses. Beyond the freshman year, the department continues to offer scientific courses adapted to the requirements of the various engineering disciplines. The courses offered are in the areas of mathematics, physics, mechanics, chemistry and industrial manufacturing.
In addition to the technical courses, the department offers the humanities courses of the engineering faculty. These courses are designed to complement the scientific formation of the students. They are in the areas of arts, management and the methodology of science.
The mission of the department, in addition to the academic one, is to provide freshmen students with a successful introduction in the engineering faculty, as a first step in the formation of outstanding engineers
