The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) through its comprehensive Zero Emission Vehicles Policy, AASTMT demonstrates environmental leadership and commitment to sustainability. By integrating sustainable transportation infrastructure, educational programs, research initiatives, and international partnerships, the university serves as a model for environmental stewardship in higher education. These efforts contribute meaningfully to reducing emissions and fostering a campus culture that values sustainability, positioning AASTMT as a leader in green transportation initiatives in Alexandria and beyond.

The AASTMT is dedicated to environmental sustainability through the implementation of a comprehensive Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) Policy across its campuses. This initiative reflects the institution's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting eco-friendly transportation alternatives for students, faculty, and staff.

The policy encourages the adoption of electric and zero-emission vehicles for all campus-related transportation needs, including university shuttles, administrative vehicles, and personal vehicles accessing campus facilities.

1.Shuttle Service Transition

The campus shuttle service operating between Abu Qir and Miami campuses is undergoing a phased transition to electric and hybrid models. This strategic shift aims to substantially reduce emissions generated by daily commuter travel.

Project Objectives:

The SPEED project establishes new educational modules on Hybrid Electric Vehicle technology and Rational Use of Energy. The initiative employs an innovative approach incorporating:
