Policy Purpose
This policy shows how AASTMT supports stakeholder engagement with the Policy Makers in the Egyptian Government, especially through scientific research for balanced access to justice and the promotion of political and human rights.
Policy Statement
Academic evidence and expertise can inform and improve government policy, but many academics find it difficult to contribute to policy-making. AASTMT shall support the Egyptian policy makers and authorities through scientific research, facilitating public engagement and a participatory approach for better governance.

AASTMT considers that supporting the policy makers in the Egyptian Government is one of its important priorities, especially through research and its’ researchers. AASTMT facilitates collaborative decision-making and civic engagement between researchers and national policymakers, establishing mechanisms for stakeholder engagement to support research uptake for the benefit of public policy design, delivery, and evaluation.

This regional Joint European Project (JEP) in Governance Reform brings together ten institutions from Libya, Morocco, Egypt, and Lebanon to address the regional issue of "University Management and Student Services." The project's overarching goal is to demonstrate how excellent management techniques can encourage long-term higher education cooperation between nations, particularly in light of the problems that refugees encounter. The project's emphasis on public involvement strives to safeguard principles of freedom and addressing the challenges of operating a worldwide institution in the twenty-first century.

Progression of Accessibility Centres in Higher Education for Students with disabilities in North Africa: (PACES)
The goal of this project is to promote socioeconomic progress by modernizing higher education and improving access for students with special needs. This effort aims to empower students with disabilities by allowing them to enter the workforce and gain economic independence, thereby minimizing their economic disadvantages. The project aims to establish an inclusive educational environment that promotes the overarching objective of economic freedom for all by promoting individual rights and encouraging participation.

The BA Information Institutions and Professional Skills Department, in collaboration with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), launched the "Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Adaptations" conference, which focusing on the rule of law, human rights, government, civic engagement, political engagement, fundamental rights, and liberties, as well as issues such as corruption, bribery, and civil liberties protection.
An AI project exhibition, showcasing work from AASTMT, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, and Borg El-Arab Technological University, was stressed on the global relevance of AI and its integration into BA's operations, and underscored the necessity of ethical guidelines for AI usage, highlighting its role in creating new job opportunities for young people.

AASTMT agreement to establish China-Arab Information Transfer Center
AASTMT signed a MoU with the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in November 2022 to establish China center of technology transfer. The center will carry-out technologies on demand, exchange and collaboration in key sectors such as high speed rails, aerospace, satellite communication, new energy, modern agriculture that support Egypt's roadmap to achieve SDG.

MCIT and AASTMT Memorandum of Understanding
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), represented by the Information Technology Institute (ITI), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AASTMT, represented by the College of Computing and Information Technology - South Valley Campus, on February 24. The agreement comes within the framework of the development efforts exerted to raise efficiency and promote the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the State’s administrative and service apparatus.

IAMU AGA21
The Annual General Assembly (AGA) is the annual meeting of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU). The International Association of Maritime Universities Conference (IAMUC), held annually as part of the AGA, brings together experts and official representatives of IAMU member universities from all over the world to discuss recent progress and future trends in maritime education, training, research, and other matters within the scope of IAMU. This year, the IAMUC will be hosted by The Arab Academy for Science – Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), a founding member of IAMU.
