Multiple events and field trips are organized through the different colleges of AASTMT to provide support for local businesses and farmers, as well as opportunities for students to learn and potentially get practical opportunities

Firled Trips and Visits

Dina Farms

On November 3, 2024, AASTMT's Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department organized comprehensive field visit to Dina Farms focusing specifically on their  organic farming, organic production of multiple goods, packaging and distribution operations. Students systematically observed automated packaging systems designed to maintain product freshness while minimizing environmental impact through selection of sustainable packaging materials.

Edita company

The Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department organized an enriching educational field trip to Edita Company on October 21, 2025. This visit aimed to connect academic knowledge with real-world industry practices. During the tour, students had the opportunity to explore the company’s modern production lines and gain firsthand insight into how Molto and other confectionery products are manufactured with high quality and precision. They also learned about the company’s logistics and supply chain strategies, quality control systems, and the coordination required between different departments to ensure smooth production and distribution processes.


Basa Fish Farm and Hatchery

The College of Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology, in coordination with Dr. Khaled Kamoun (renowned expert in aquaculture and fisheries management), organized comprehensive scientific visit to pioneering Basa fish farm and hatchery. The facility, managed by Engineer Hesham Mohamed recognized pioneer in Basa fish farming in Egypt, represents innovative approaches to aquaculture production addressing domestic food security needs through sustainable production systems.

Intensive Fish Farm

Following Basa farm visit, students conducted practical tours of intensive fish farm facilities in Borg El Arab, providing direct observation of advanced aquaculture production systems, sustainable fisheries technology applications, and operational management practices in commercial fish farming. Students directly observed the water quality management systems, the feed management and optimization, as well as disease prevention and health management tools and environmental sustainability practices.

2022-2023

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) actively organizes events that bring together local farmers, food producers, and students to facilitate knowledge transfer and promote sustainable agricultural practices. These initiatives include free and paid opportunities, ensuring accessibility for diverse participants.

Dina Farms Visit:

AASTMT facilitated a field visit to Dina Farms, a leading dairy producer, where students and local farmers engaged in discussions on sustainable farming practices, organic production methods, and advanced irrigation techniques. The event emphasized the importance of local sourcing and sustainable agriculture, fostering mutual knowledge exchange.

El-Saad Fruit Import and Export Company Visit:

Another field trip connected students and farmers with experts in agricultural exports. Participants observed all stages of the production and export process, gaining insights into best practices in farming, cropping techniques, and global supply chain management.

2. Paid Opportunities:

Mafi Agricultural Products Partnership:

Through a paid collaboration with Mafi, AASTMT supports local farmers and food producers by providing advanced training in artificial intelligence and modern agricultural technologies. This partnership also established a Center of Excellence for supply chain management, enabling participants to enhance their skills in technology-driven agriculture.
