Egyptian Partners Hold SAFER Stakeholders Workshop in EgyptAs part of the SAFER project activities, the Egyptian partners, Heliopolis University and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), successfully organized a stakeholder’s workshop in Egypt to support the project’s work on strengthening agricultural education, improving skills, and modernizing learning through digital tools. The workshop was carried out within SAFER (Sustainable Agri-Futures: Empowering Climate Resilience and Green Growth in Higher Education), an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project that brings together partners from Greece, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Egypt, and Jordan to enhance agricultural education and promote climate-smart and sustainable practices. During the workshop, the Egyptian partners presented the needs survey findings related to climate change and sustainable agriculture challenges and opened the floor for discussion and feedback from participants. The session created a valuable space for dialogue with stakeholders and supported the exchange of perspectives on current needs, opportunities, and priorities in the field. This activity is fully consistent with the project framework under WP2, where partner HEIs are required to organize institutional workshops to discuss the needs assessment in research and teaching on climate change resilience and sustainable agriculture. According to the Grant Agreement, these workshops are meant to engage stakeholders and directly inform the project’s strategic planning and programme development. The successful completion of this workshop by the Egyptian partners in Egypt represents an important step in SAFER’s implementation and highlights the role of local stakeholder engagement in building stronger, more relevant, and more resilient higher education approaches in sustainable agriculture.

The SAFER consortium successfully held its 1st Transnational Project Meeting (TPM1) in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 9 to 11 June 2026, hosted by the International Hellenic University (IHU). Over three productive days, project partners came together to review progress, align implementation across the Work Packages, discuss key deliverables, and prepare the next phase of project activities. During the meeting, the consortium reviewed progress in project coordination and management, needs assessment, strategic planning and capacity building, curriculum development and digital learning, community engagement and industry cooperation, and dissemination, inclusivity and sustainability.
