Visit Report on the United Arab Shipping Company
Sir captain/ Ali Al-Jassim – fleet training supervisor in the United Arab Shipping Company – paid a visit to the AASTMT (Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport), accompanied by sir captain/ Ezz El-Din Labib – director for seafarers in the United Arab Shipping Company – in the period from Monday, 11/1/2010 until Thursday, 14/1/2010. Sir Dr/ Gamal Ghaloush – Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Transport and Technology – held a meeting with sir captain/ Ali Al-Jassim and sir captain/ Ezz El-Din Labib. The following also attended the meeting:
- Captain / Ahmed Abdel-Latif, Secretary General of the International Forum for Maritime Transport.
- Dr / Mohamed Abdel-Salam Dawood, Chairperson of the Department of Maritime Navigation.
- Engineer / Adel Abdel Aziz, head of Marine Engineering
- Captain / Mohammad Al-Abbasi, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Transport for special courses.
• Captain/ Ali Al-Jasim met 20 (twenty) distinct students and postgraduate students from both departments of Navigation and Marine Engineering, and conducted personal interviews with them at the International Forum for Maritime Transport in the presence of Captain / Ahmed Anwar Abdel-Latif – Secretary General of the International Forum for Maritime Transport. 10 (ten) outstanding postgraduate students of the twenty were selected for training on board the ships in the United Arab Shipping Company.
• It was agreed to send 50 (fifty) students to join the Faculty of Maritime Transport in both maritime and engineering sections, starting from September 2010.
• He (sir captain / Ali Al-Jasim) also held a meeting with students sent by the United Arab Shipping Company studying in the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
